Something passed my facebook feed a few weeks ago about her receiving an award of some kind for her contribution to music, I cannot find it now sadly but I'm sure someone here will know more.[/QUOTE]...
Had a great day out yesterday, until Frank Renton started wittering on - surprised nobody threw anything at him, though someone did tell him to get the earlier train, which went down a storm!
Mr Hopkins has been in touch with me to say he is not happy with this post, and asking for it to be taken down. He complaining I didn't acknowledge the 'donation' he gave for the music.... ...
Heard the band and thought they sounded great - and very heartening to hear all the great comments about brass bands. Well done folks
I don't actually feel nervous when I go on a contest stage, so there must be something subconscious about it all - I can usually play my part well enough but, even if I have a wee solo, the top lip...
We did Goff Richards' Doyen at an ensemble comp, and it worked really well.
Hiya toby me old mucker - think I'll be buttering Jimbo up and having a root through the archives! It's for a 40's evening - not sure yet if they're gonna want us to toot the whole night (3 hrs!) so...
Hi Gareth - we don't have a huge library and, if I haen't played it myself for a while, I can never remember the pieces. KST's a good one though, thanks for reminding me! :sup
Thanks for that Jim - a new one to me. :)
Need your help again folks! Got a 40's night event in a month or two, and looking for lots of ideas of great 40's music. We've got a fair bit, but I'm sure there're always pieces out there I...
I agree - thankyou for bringing this information to everyone's attention. Like you said, we only focus on what happened while Maggie was in office.
I certainly wasn't a huge Maggie-fan, but at...
Thanks for the info folks - vinyl Andrew
Ah! that's a start! I presume it's a slow one then? :p
Does anyone have a recording of this band piece, or a link to it so that I can listen to it? I know now't about it - maybe it's a cornet solo/feature, but the name intrigues me! Cheers folks! :D
Sorted! :D
Thanks for the info Lofty :D
Anyone know if the cornet duet 'Deliverance' is written with piano accompaniment please? Cheers :)
Man
We've to take photo identification to the Midlands Champs tomorrow as our new cards still haven't arrived..... :ranting2:
My band, Wellington, is in the second section. I'm their new resident, though can't conduct them on the day so Steve Pritchard-Jones is taking them. They've worked their little socks off the past...
Naughty, naughty, Hobgoblin - you're trolling again. This is wasted on the majority of folks on here, though you are trying. Very trying...
I agree - Linthwaite must've deserved the placing.
I don't know anything about this situation other than what I've read, but surely an adjudicator cannot be blamed if they don't hear every single...
Surprised that no-one's commented on this piece recently. What a fantastic piece! Really enjoying taking Wellington Band through their paces on this, but boy! it's a toughie for 2nd section...
Think I'll pop along to a chemist or pound shop with my cornet and lyre to try out the cheapies! Only thing with another pair of specs is having to swap them over! Might have to resort to...
