The K&Ms are fine, there's just a bit more fine adjustment on the sabra som...but if it's just an occasional thing you'll be fine.
Enjoy yourself.
I've a few of these: http://www.studiospares.com/invt/409110
but the ones I use most are: http://www.canford.co.uk/Products/53-622_SABRA-SOM-ST-2-Adjustable-stereo-bar
If you're looking to eliminate as many phase problems as you can you should really look into using a coincident array like XY.....ORTF / NOS and the like are near coincident arrays and actually use...
Depends what you're trying to achieve really.
How familiar are you with stereo mic techniques?
Personally if I was just using a pair my preference would be for ORTF....worth a quick squizz on...
Hmm.
But - again - the complaints were levied at boring / too easy to maintain interest.....but how many performances didn't deal with the first few bars?
I ~do~ feel for those with sparse...
I like exclamation marks!
Sorry, should have qualified....it was more based on an extrapolation judging by the fact that there have been so many comments that individual parts are 'easy' or have nothing in them.
In my...
With all this talk of 'easiness' I'll await the results with baited breath....
One thing a lot of this piece isn't is 'easy'.
You do know it was deliberate, Mike?
There's a thread somewhere (on Facebook I think) explaining the 'badness' of some of it and how it was at the request of the director.
Besses did it when they were British Open Champions.
Besses Boys also appeared on it (me included) playing Our Boys Will Shine Tonight.
So in essence what you're saying is that once something has been used it shouldn't be used again as we should always be moving 'forwards'?
Ok. I can see your point.
But moving forward sacrificing what point(s)?
Playing together? Playing in tune? Maintaining balance across the full range of dynamics? Maintantaining style across a...
To the best of my knowledge Dyke, Faireys, Tredegar and Leyland were recorded for archive purposes by the tech staff at the RNCM (if they hadn't been able to so it, I'd been asked by Paul if i was...
Really nice arrangement - highly recommended!
I'm glad I left the B in now ;)
Seriously, though, glad you enjoyed it :)
Not in the slightest :)
I guess my comment on this would be that there are reasons that bands like Leyland, Faireys and now Brighouse are choosing us....and, to be fair, they're the same...
Some good advice there. Perhaps I may qualify a few things from my / our perspective?
Indeed, but as Jess has already indicated, this can be a double edged sword....and it doesn't just include...
As my esteemed business partner has said, most of us will give you a quotation based on what exactly it is you need.
One point I'd add (and this comes from both my experience as a player on...
If you're looking for something movement based, you could check out Peter Meechan's Manchester Concertino .
I've also had a commission from Ben Tubb called "Metamorphosis", though I don't know if...
Shouldn't be on the source track.....I'd have probably heard last year if there was a chunk missing.....
That of course should read Music House Productions.....sorry! Turns out I can't edit posts on a Blackberry!
I'm too busy atm to be able to do it for you,Mark...but you may want to have a chat with Keith Farrington from Music house Production....I know he's done transfers and restorations in the past.......
Never linked the user name with this being you, Huw.....congratulations :)
Yep. If the source recordings are good it shouldn't take long :)
Not necessarily more advanced....just possibly different....but in a lot of cases it isn't as many people just convert the same...
