Shepherd Concert Band won best ungraded band march, Ratby won best 4th section march.
I actually work at York Uni and we were saying only the other day how it's a shame we don't have a brass band anymore. I think this sounds like a very good idea, I know a few people, both staff and...
That'd be great, I think Scotland would be a serious contender! There's a right mixture of ages really, and we're also a very friendly bunch, so the age thing isn't really a problem!
Donded also :)
Thanks Julia, it does sound like a very good idea, and we were discussing this option last week but decided it's not really viable for our band as we have a few young children and quite a few people...
Hi guys,
Our band is wanting to do a few-day-long tour/trip in May. Only trouble is, we can't decide where we should go. Last year we went to the Isle Of Arran and did a couple of joint concerts...
Thanks Dave, it was cool to be playing for both bands even if it was bloomin' exhausting! Can't wait for next year now! :D
I would like to add a huge congrats to Shepherds concert band, as last year we came last and this year under the influence of our new conductor, Mike Pratt, we managed to come 4th in our section...
Woohoo, can't wait! And just the one pint....?! ;)
That was going to be my next point, well said!
Knew I could rely on you to back me up on that one Leisa ;)
Granted, some girls are asking for it, however some of us (slightly better endowed, shall we say...?) girls, no matter what we wear, seem to have the problem of over-exposure when we don't intend it,...
Yes, I bet so too. I was secretly jealous that I had not thought of such a genius plan for comfy feet during a concert...
Just referring back to the posts about slippers, last year we went on tour and one of our back-row cornets had forgotten to pack his band shoes (amongst various other items), but luckily had a very...
Aww poor you! Yes, my pain is also in the top of my back and my neck, tried taking some painkillers but they were a bit weedy in the circumstances
I've left my horn at home when going to a concert...I think it was Christmas time and we were playing in the city centre, so I parked my car etc., took the music and a stand out of the boot, walked...
I've just done exactly the same thing! My back hurts too now :(
Haha, I know, so am I :D
Am I detecting a hint of the ol' sarcasm in that post.....?
Pfft, speak for yourself brassbandmaestro! I, for one, am not mad in the slightest ;)
Triangular-shaped mug, eh? Interesting...I have a very square one, but it's not practical to drink out of, as the liquid spills out of the corners when you tip it. I have square plates too, which are...
Oooh, add me too! :D
Another one that really grates on me is the wrong use of 'your' and 'you're'. I don't remember it being something we really focused on in school though, as with the other annoyances mentioned in this...
How about:
"Do you chafe when you move?"
What the hell?! That advert makes me cringe beyond belief
Also, that Oreo advert with the little kid and the dog. Not sure exactly what it is about it, it just annoys the hell out of me
