As far as I'm aware, the point of the Spring Festival is to qualify for the Open, so yes it is totally realistic to ask bands to play 'Open' pieces, no...
What would be a more realistic test for the Open qualifying contest than the last Open test piece? :-?
Why?
Whether or not you agree with what he said, at least he said something this year (!). Surely honest feedback is a good thing, even if you don't like it or agree with it.....
And on that...
so close! Such a great project, I really hope you guys make the target
1 band isn't a 'total' lack...
the top section entries have been poor for several years, the venue doesn't appear to have anything to do with it.
Great review of the first night HERE.
Tonight's sold out but there are still tickets left for the two shows on Saturday; we've already spotted a few friends from other local bands in the audience...
maybe its that pesky free on-site parking?
or the total lack of stairs to slog up between warm-up, registration and stage?
or the inconvenient location near the middle of the scaba catchment area...
^ which makes for entertaining reading as long as you don't expect too much accuracy!
Not sure how a town closer to the Country's second biggest airport than to any coastline can be 'over the...

(oh, and I was wrong about...
Cheers guys, but I'm specifically after info on Sovereigns...... I may have got the wrong end of the stick, but I had the impression the build quality of Sovereigns has suffered more than the...
Has anyone bought a new Sovereign in the last couple of years?
Trying to find out if the basic design has changed at all, and what's the build quality like these days? (am I right in thinking...
Just Music has it

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the situation with Kapitol and the new registry any more than you do, and would personally have loved to see a significant number of bands organise themselves to act...
Disagree, sorry.
The Regionals are part of the Nationals Championships of GB which are owned by Kapitol. Like it or not, any band entering that contest (which includes the Regionals as well as...
Is it disciplinary action though? IF the rumour is true, I just read it to mean Kapitol are enforcing their rule about bands being registered - if a band wasn't registered with BBPL then they...
Kapitol own the National championships and the rules that govern them. The rules clearly stated that English bands entering the areas must be registered with the new BBPL, therefore any bands...
some of us want to know what the finals pieces are first!
