I believe I really enjoyed the extra long band rehersal today! :)
I think the only fully "professional" brass bands are in the army... (there are two, I think?)
But some of the top championship bands are definitely of a very high standard that could amost match...
In a way, I think it would be nice if brass bands (and wind bands too) could become integrated with the rest of classical music, instead of just seperate half hour programmes that happen once a...

Homophony is where parts are moving together with the same rhythm...
Melody dominated homophony is where there is a tune with chords etc underneath...
or at least that's what I've learnt for...
