There's a bit of me is uncomfortable with retrospectively changing the number of promoted bands after the result. I'd prefer it if they just announced 4 up in 2014.

I'm sure they have. It was just more fun when they posted them on here and then it turned out they were wrong.
Disappointing lack of people guessing averages and any rules they don't know, then posting unofficial league tables.
An evil registry? What do they do, hold on to your transfers until you pay the sum of one...million...pounds.
Mwa ha ha.
Preston has changed it's rules this year hasn't it? Set piece - areas or Butlins. You can't really just lay the blame for the lack of numbers on Kapitol. Tempting as it may be.
Wouldn't imagine so, but he knows a little bit about bands and he REALLY didn't like something.
Or the flaw in any adjudication system.
It's just bandin. More often than not you get what you deserve, sometimes not. When you see a 3/3/14 you assume the third guy got it wrong. But who's to...
It's not really a question of homework as such.
From memory, Paddy has a ranking system (Elo, I think) which he uses to calculate the opening market. The market is then refined as more...
But apart from the areas, the Nationals, the English Nationals and the Euros, what have the Pondashers ever done for us?
Splitters.
You could argue that if a piece was too difficult it made the bottom positions a bit of a lottery. Not sure if that really matters at the Nats though because there's no relegation.
There should be a poll.
In a school as opposed to an expensive hall? Why didn't they think of that.
The bar used to close during the 1st section. How were changing facilities the only issue with the Spa centre?
I'm no use once I'm into my 3rd gallon of beer. Just saying.
You get to eat? Lightweights.
That Euros (2000 Birmingham) was my probably most enjoyable day's banding. On a relatively straightforward set piece YBS just shone that day.
Then there was Eikanger on Concerto Grosso. Wow!
...
God, I wish I played Bass Trom.
You haven't lived Paddy.
Is it in D minor?
All very fair points, well made Oodle Bugler. Doesn't explain the tragic events of 1923 though. Dark days for banding.
Best bring your dancing shoes if you want to play Devil on 3 timps.
Do any timps have a range of an octave?
Go on then, this confused me. Don't the Regional committee tell the bands which timps will be provided, not the other way round.
Ahh, quick mute change, tube extended on a harmon. We've all done it. The clatter of shame.
Isn't live comments relatively, if not, new for the Areas?
Panic over. Stand down mods.
