Foden's winning performance from the "Open" of "Contest Music" (1st and 3rd movs. only) has been scheduled by the BBC for tonight's Listen to the Band programme. They appear as bookends to pieces played by YBS in the later concert.

Well, just heard it live online, and will have to give it another listen from the archive later on. Unfortunately, I was interrupted by a phone call - as much as I try not to take calls at work between 3:30 and 4:00 PM (Chicago time), pesky clients cannot really be put off.
Still, from what I heard it was quite a good performance. A couple chipped notes here and there, but otherwise very clean. While it can be difficult to tell with online audio, the balance and detail seemed first-rate.
Of course, there's nothing else from the day to compare it to - especially Dyke's performance. I don't think next week's show will have anything either, as it's presumably highlights from the concert the following day.

Why would they broadcast Dykes performance? They came 6th!
Surely BAYV would be a better comparison?
