I attended today's session in Wakefield and found Derek Broadbent's presentation quite revealing. He spoke candidly and with refreshing honesty about trust between bands and adjudicators, what adjudicators should be looking for and some of the processes the adjudicator employs. He touched upon several contentious issues (open adjudication, multiple adjudicators, own choice test pieces) and gave pleny of opportunities for questions.
I'd thoroughly recommend the other sessions (in Wigan or Leicester) for any conductor or interested player.
