Is Mmmmbop by Hanson the appex of pop cheese of the last decade or so?

Being a Durham student, cheesy music has been the staple of nights out in Klute for the last 3 years.
Surely Chesney Hawkes with 'I am the One and Only' has to be up there, released in 1991 but still played nightly in Durham.

You have to have cheesy music on your comupter so when you get ready to go out you can listen to it. It helps whilst drinking the horrible cocktails before heading in to town.

Cheesy music is ace for when you want a laugh-obviously private listenin. there is so much cheese in my cd collection from years gone by although hanson would feature pretty near the top!

I loved that song!
Best cheesy song has to be 99 red balloons though! We put it on in our shop and the customers all seem to leave!
Also a bit of Lolly- Mickey does the trick!

No... There's alot worse than Hanson...
They played there own instruments and wrote some very good songs.

I think "Reach for the stars" by S-Club is the ultimate in cheese!
chesney hawks is a classic, and always goes down well, but Reach is in another league of cheesiness!

I thrive on cheesy pieces!!! My CD collections are filled with them!!!
Let's see we want Cheese of the 90's?
Well we can't go too much further than mambo #5!!!!
Uno, duo, tre, quatro
When I was a boy just about the eight-a grade
Mama used to say, "Don't stay out-a late
With the bad-a boys, always shoot-a pool
Guiseppe going to flunk-a school"
/ E6 E E6 E / / B7 - - - / 1st /
Boy it make-a me sick, all the t'ing I gotta do
I can't-a-get-a no kicks, I always go to follow rules
Boy, it make-a me sick, just to make-a lousy bucks
Got to feelin' like a fool
And-a mama used to say all-a time
{Refrain}
What's-a matter you, hey, gotta no respect
What-a you t'ink you do, why you look-a so sad
It's-a not so bad, it's-a nice-a place
Ah, shaddap you face
That's-a my mama, I can remember
Soon-a come a day gonna be a big-a star
Den I make-a TV shows and-a movies, get-a myself a new car
But still I be myself, I don't want-a to change a t'ing
Still a-dance and a-sing
I t'ink about-a mama, she used to say
{Refrain twice}
:(

I'm really sad, cos I actually got someone from my band to download that song for me! I do have a reason though (although not sure if it's enough to save me from the endless mocking). On my 18th birthday a couple of years back, it was playing in the club that me and the rest of the band had gone to and it just reminds me of what an excellent birthday it was. I must add that I was very, very drunk.

As an avid collector of c**p songs and eurovision tunes (time for a long lie down in a darkened room!!) I don't think you can beat some [so-called] celebrity singalongs....
Keith Harris - Orville's Song
Hilda Baker & Arthur Mullard - You're The One That I Want
Frankie Howerd & June Whitfield - Up Je T'aime
Bob Monkhouse - I Remember Natalie (This was supposed to be a serious love song - but by heck it makes your ears bleed)
Michael Barrymore - Kenny The Kangaroo (nuff said)
I also have a couple of LPs (yep vinyl!) of Edward "Equalizer/Callan" Woodward... truly magnificent in their awfulness.
Today at Scotland v Barbarians rugby match, the warm up band was POP, who must be the cheesiest band EVER!
"I've......had........the time of my life........ and i've never felt this way before....."

Arrr what? that film is fantastic!!!! As is 99 red balloons floatin in the summer sky and 500 miles.
I think Barbie Girl is the ultimate cheese..., actually no, it's not worthy to be attributed to the whole genre of cheese. And 5,6,7,8 yea an umbop must be somewhere down with barbie girl. Reminds me of primary school discos :? don't know whether that's a good thing or not!
TuTuKu Xx
do the cheeky girls not get a mention???

May I at this point say that the darkness are NOT "cheesy pop"
But yeah the Spice Girls are the ultimate cheesy pop!
the darkness are NOT "cheesy pop"
Well...
I think the first 2 singles and that christmas song were quite clearly cheesy pop... it's just that they're not JUST cheesy pop!
