I was there, the solo was very well played (as you would expect!) it was very demanding, interesting lines, I enjoyed it very much but it would only suit certain concerts and audiences, but the same is with every piece! Doyle was fantastic as were all of the band, David Thornton was particularly good (and this is coming from a sop player!)
A well chosen, varied programme, something for everyone, to coin a phrase!
