Get your orders in now! This cd is a must. You have to hear it to believe it.
Peter Roberts always plays to an unbelievable high standard&it's hard to imagine that even he can raise his standard any further, but on this disk that is what you will hear!Over two gruelling weekends Pete was awesome. The look of amazement on everybodys faces after every take said it all.The highlight for me was when we finished "Memory"&I looked down the line at Dean Morley(who was guesting). Both me&Deano looked at each other, mouths wide open, with a look of total amazement.

Those of us fortunate to be there will,I'm sure, never forget it.

Peter played 'On with the Motley' when we hosted YBS in July last year.
I'd heard about Peter's performances of this over the years but even that didn't prepare me for the experience of hearing it live.
The intensity and passion he put into the performance was quite incredible.
Glad to see that he has recorded it for the new CD.

Don't sop players know any other solo's?

It's a good piece, but does everyone have to play it, it's been done to death now, IMHO.

I think it's the same throughout banding, everybody is playing the same stuff - with all the new music that comes out all the time, can't conductors choose music no-one else is playing. Just my humble opinion.

James in general terms you have a point. But not with Pete's CD. Pete and On with the Motley go together. He gives the definitive performance. They go together like shoes and socks, lemon and meringue etc.etc.

On Pete's first solo CD, he just has to put it on because people want to hear Pete playing this. He always delivers an emotive performance. Performers become associated with certain pieces and Pete will always be associated with Memory, On with the Motley, Silver Threads etc.

Long live Pete the legend.

A huge thank you to Peter Roberts for being on hand to sign copies of his CD at the Yorkshire Regionals at the weekend.
A great weekend for Peter; launch of his first ever solo CD, winning the Yorkshire Regional with YBS and collecting the best soprano award too!

Peter will be with us at the North-West Regional next Sunday too.

Got my copy from the World of Brass team at Yorkshire at the weekend...and the playing is just awesome.

What a player and as the CD says what a legend! Lets hope he has many more playing years left. After Yesterdays display at the areas he is still untouchable as a sop player...long live Peter Roberts!

The thing for me with this Cd is not what he does, but how he does it. None of the pieces are particularly techincally stimulating (for a guy like Peter anyway!) but I just admire his complete control of the instrument. To me, he doesn't sound a sop player: what? I hear you say...but I am mean that there are many top soprano players around but it can sound like hard work for them no matter how good they sound: Peter makes it sound so easy.

Just like to say a public thank you to Peter Roberts for taking part in the CD signing sessions at the Yorkshire & NorthWest Regionals.
It certainly created additional interest around our trade stand.
How appropriate that on the weekend of the release of his CD, YBS were the victors in Yorkshire and Peter was named best soprano player!

I spoke with Peter yesterday and he enjoyed meeting up with many friends, some of whom he hadn't seen for several years.
