Just realised as I was killing time and pottering around here that there doesn't appear to have been any mention of the awards this year..... does that mean that Steve Butler gets to be "saddo" for life? Seems all the voting was done by this time last year? Or is it hiding somewhere else? :dunno

I am destined to be a 'saddo' for life babe, irrespective of any tMP awards ;)

Steve in my eyes will always be tmp saddo, he has a caravan for goodness sake. You can't get any sadder than that!

Maybe the Mods got fed of organising them for only 20 folk to take an interest.

I think that they should do it again!

I wasn't here last time!

And I have some nominees for this one!

Can we have a vote for who wants the annual awards?

Sorry John, but I've never worked out how or where to vote. It was only by chance I discovered I'd won something last year.

By the way, I'd like to thank my family, my agent, my publicist, my stylist.......

Yes! A vote is the fairest way!

Come on mods! Let us have our awards back if the vote is our way!

Are we allowed to make our own award threads?

Are we allowed to make our own award threads?

I haven't discussed this with the other moderators, but it would, in my opinion, be perfectly within the rules to create award threads in the Random forum.

Yay!

I'll give you some time to check with them, but if it is allowed, I'll get to work!

Maybe you should discuss with the other members first before you get to work, so its fair......

Yes, we can do a vote, and also decide what awards to do

Shall I set up the vote now?

Just hold your horses Stickman! Wait for the others to have a say first...

Do you like the idea of it?

If you need help setting up the polls etc., just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

So am I allowed?

Don't you think you should wait for the others so that everyone can agree on award catagories?

Stickman 09

Yes, I am going to put a thread asking.

After a week or so I will set them up.

Jan and I are the only two mods on at the moment, and we agree that there is no reason to stop someone from setting up their own award threads (Jan has even offered to help with the polls in his post above in this thread).

I have a few caveats and suggestions:

They won't be the "official tMP Awards".
I suggest a standard format for the thread titles, just to keep them tidy.
Create a list of categories and the criteria for those categories before starting to make the threads.
All of the standard tMP rules apply to the threads. No personal attacks, etc.

Just to point out to folks that don't visit the Random section that this is where this year's awards are being held - hop on over and start nominating!

Sorry Hamish, I must have seen the red username and assumed it was the boss without looking properly!
