The Fairey band are proud to announce the launch of their new look website. Aimed at the Faireys enthusiast as much as the casual surfer, the new site provides a wealth of historical information, photographs and recordings, in addition to all the up-to-date information on the current band. The new site can be found at www.faireyband.com. (http://www.faireyband.com)

In addition to the revamped site, Faireys has become one of the first to engage with the new fan pages on Facebook. The social networking revolution is helping the band to connect with friends and past members and has prompted many rival bands to join the race! Through this, the band promises to keep its signed-up ‘fans’ updated with all the very latest happenings, and encourage them to make their own contribution to the growing collection of multimedia and discussion. The page can be found at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/The-Fairey-Band/44439039193?ref=ts

Where many bands have no other option but to commission the services of a professional web designer, Faireys are in the fortunate position of having their own graphic/web design team within the playing ranks. This revamped Internet presence is the result of a combined effort between Nick Walkley and Andrew Oetegenn, who have both volunteered their time and skills to ensure Fairey’s ongoing revival extends beyond the concert and contest platforms.

The band’s Acid Brass project is also due for a fresh image. It already has a new logo, fusing the bands logo with the familiar ‘smiley’ face of the acid house scene, and a separate Facebook fan page has been created at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Acid-Brass/60151161753. A new, dedicated ‘Acid Brass’ website is also expected to follow in the coming months.

Faireys are also now looking forward to an exciting year in prospect. As well as recently booking its place at the National Finals in October, the band looks forward to making its usual contest appearances at Preston, Birmingham and Gateshead. Added to that, the band has a rewarding concert schedule in place. Following a successful concert at Ipswich Corn Exchange last weekend, the band looks forward to later this year when they will perform at The Sage, Gateshead and in Telford at a ‘Battle of Britain’ memorial concert.

Acid Brass is also lining up some exciting engagements, with a trip to Besançon in France recently confirmed, and regular festival appearances expected to follow from the success of last years Bestival and Beatherder performances.
