Two observations of no consequence on the excellent Festival Music CD:
1. Is the principal euphonium playing on Journey Into Freedom really the same player who appears on all the other tracks? :?:
2. Eric Ball sounds a bit like Enoch Powell, don't you think? :)

No, it's not the same player - well spotted. I missed one of the sessions and am very grateful for Glyn Williams for stepping in for me. Glyn's on Journey into Freedom - it's me for the rest.

Is this post falling foul of exactly what it's commenting on?

Also, Did Ben Rapp sit end chair for some of the sessions? I know he is a similar sounding player to Roger (being his teacher and all) but knowing his sound it sounds like him on a few of the Principals solos.
Now I have said that, I bet Roger was there for all of them now
