Has anyone got the details and a contact for the NNEMBA contest held in February at Rolls Royce in Derby?

Rachel - "How much further?"

Zuzanna - " 5 minutes"

Rachel (15 mins later) - "How much further? I'm busting for the loo!"

Zuzanna - "5 minutes"

all the way from Derby to Sheffield

Aah the amusement, especially as rachel never questioned the length of Zuzannas "5 minutes"

Memories of NEMBBA.........

i know silk'll be there, they've moved our skiing trip to the week later, so we can go on the sat, and not straight after NEMBBA like last year.

Incidently... NEMBBA, not NNEMBA.

i think to play at assoc contests all you have to do is pay a fee to the relevant assoc. years ago when i played for newstead we joined the bradford brass band assoc and went to bradford and won.

Unfortunately it looks like Silk won't be going if they are changing the date as half the players are flying back from a skiing trip in Austria on that day. It's a pity they wont be there to defend their title, but good luck to all competitors who are going.

I'll be there (hopefully) in a non-playing/pro-drinking capacity. After being first in and last out of the bar last year, I have a reputation to uphold....

Does any one know if the results are going to read out after every section?????
Think about being there with a bar ??
I want them to be after each section cos i have to got to work stright after 4th section finishes

Thats what makes NEMBBA so good if you play in the 4th. There's nothing to do between playing and getting the results apart from drinking (or listening to bands if your that way inclined!). Plan to get absolutely slaughtered as its Half term next week :D

Hehe this is true!!
Although, got a feeling me n my band will be nursing a hangover from a players wedding do the night before!! Oh dear! Although we're last in the third section so should have recovered by then! It'll be a good day. Good luck to all!! :D
