OK, An idea occurred to me thanks to the Wherryman. Follow on my word with another (real) word that makes a new word. You don't have to worry about anything than the previous word - you can only use pre/suffixes if they are words in their own right. e.g.

Work - shy - ness... etc.

You write another word that fits to make a new word (eg don)
That makes Tendon:tup

Next person uses don and adds or to make donor
Next person takes or and adds bit to make orbit
and so on.

Each person writes one word that starts with the added bit of the previous word. Each added bit must be a word in its own right. Everyone clear?

Sorry guys, can we stick to the rules please?

You can only add real words that stand on their own - Magic flute's word was made up of rate and able.

able starts the next word, you have to add another word to make a new word.

e.g. (though I've already used this - it's too early in the morning) ton.

this makes ableton, the name of a piece of audio software. Do you get it now?
You can only use really short words if they exist as separate words. (like per, end, for etc - but no, you can't use etc! ;)) You can re-spell words (as The Wherryman is so fond of doing) if it helps and still makes real words - eg weight--> wait and so on.

But, for all we pedants, you are quite right. The addition to the previous word must be a word in it's own right and the addition to "less" was "er", not "ser". "Er", apparently, is a trivalent metallic element of the rare earth group; occurs with yttrium.
