I have been unable to climb the stairs but in all honesty it had more to do with what I'd been drinking than lack of sleep!
I can think of 3 solutions:
a) An elevator, escalator or stannah stair lift
b) Waiting for a second wind
c) Resort to sleeping on the sofa

This list is non exhaustive (bad choice of words maybe!) and in no particular order!
