Jason Robinson (england rugby player) lived 400 yards from my mum's, up until recently - used to see him walking his dog past the house most days.

Hmmm...no idea where he lives, but my eldest son is in the same class at school as Robbie Pauls daughter.

I used to teach a pupil Geography that lived two doors down from Kieran Dyer in Newcastle. Bobby Robson and a few others resided on that estate too like Shearer.

Many years ago I lived next door to Trevor Whymark, Ipswich Town and (1 appearance for) England footballer. Also lodged briefly with Ian Collard, another Ipswich Town footballer.

I used to teach Cornet to the daughter of Robin Brundle. Robin was brother of racing driver, Martin and, when in F3, was considered to be the better driver but he never got his chance in F1 like Martin and, as they say, the rest is history.

She used to come into her lessons saying things like "sorry I've not done any practise, I've been at Silverstone racetrack all week with my dad and uncle Martin", this was one week after the British Grand Prix !!! ;)

I used to live a couple of houses away from ex footballer Tommy Banks. Tommy played for Bolton Wanderers from late 1940s to early 1960s and also played for England in 1958. His brother Ralph Banks, who also played for Bolton Wanderers in the 1940s lived a little further up the street.

There's never any celebrities in Devon, it'd be nice to see a few England rugby players down the local though!!

When I was a youngster in the late 60's / early 70's, a neighbour about 250 yard up the road was Willie Johnston, then of Rangers, later of WBA and sadly of "Argentina 1978" shame. His immediate next door neighbour was a lad about 2 years below us at school who was the envy of the street one night when he came out to play football wearing a Scotland jersey (no.15 I remember - an unused sub in the particular match) that Willie had given him.
Nowadays, I live fairly near a few St Johnstone FC players (OK, I know this is supposed to be "famous"!!!), and work with ex-Motherwell striker Bruce Cleland. A colleague at another company outlet in the same road is the father of Scotland forward and Edinburgh Gunners skipper Ally Hogg. Other rugby neigbours before we came to Perth were 1950s/60s Internationalists Jimmy Maxwell and Christie Elliot.

Inga Tuigamala ( Wigan, Newcastle Falcons, All Blacks and Samoa) and Tony Underwood (Leicester, Falcons, England) lived for a while in the village where I was brought up. Inga is an absolute legend who threw himself fully into village life and was always more than willing to use his influence and contacts to help the community, e.g school fundraisers. Every organisation always seemed to have Full Squad signed Falcons Shirt to raffle!! Unfortunately due to a heart condition he had to return to New Zealand but is still fondly remembered.

I was a few years above at school and one of my mates lived for many years next door to Ben Alnwick (Sunderland and Spurs Goalkeeper)

Jonny Wilkinson lives a little further down the Tyne Valley from where I used to live and I've more than once been queuing at the bar next to him in The Wellington in Riding Mill

Well so far, we have had Orlaith McAllister (Big Brother, always getting her waps out), Finlay (a WWE wrestler), some guy who does the artwork for Marvel Comics (he was pointed out to me by a co-worker) and Glenn Ross (world's strongest man contender - literally a giant giant man)......

Out of those, Glenn Ross was amazingly nice, as was Finlay.

Oh yeah, whilst living back in Halifax, I used to go out drinking with a few of the players from Halifax RLFC - Mick Scott (went to school with his daughter), Mike Umaga, Paul Davidson, Shane Mcmenamy and the like.

Are they classed as famous - Mick Scott's major claim to fame was dropping the Challenge Cup in 1987
