Good Steady opening, with nice 'march' feel. good balanced band evident. Nice use of dynamic levels back into the march. Euph melody could be a lot stronger, and intonation problems seem to be creeping in! Nice rit into reprise. Again a well balanced band. Sop splits one or two notes but it doesn't distract.

Opening to slow movement has tuning problems, but generally very good. Accell into 'tempo' is good and percussion balance is well controlled. More rythmn needed in bass line to bring the music alive. Ensemble not together in 'latin' section, and muted cornets aren't in tune. Again good percussion. DS again lacks rythmn, good close to movement with well controlled dynamics.

Cornet balance good, but tuning spoils some excellent playing. MD taking risks with dynamics and its showing, too many splits and blips. Euphs and Baris play well with good accompaniment throughout. Tuning problems to ending but overall a nice melodic movement.

Semiquavers not together in different ensembles although it is well balance and there is a good dynamic level present. The band are certainly enjoying this performance and there is some good ensemble playing to the close.

We have offered our opinion of the bands performance based on the music, and on what we hear; and not on the technicalities of notes and other musical markings in the score etc.

Please don't be offended if you don't agree with what we write. This will simply be a combination of a report of our opinions on how we felt the performance went on the day, and of what's happening at the contest.

Please feel free to add your comments and your scores based on what you heard but please remember to keep these constructive and within the spirit of tMP and our guidelines. :)
