Opening: Suspect tuning in bass line to start. Ensemble plays well to accellerando. Good rythmic cornets, but we lose Euph melody. Overall ensemble produces some nice sounds. Band and MD are 'feeling' the music.
Good sop, but splits in cornet section distract. Trombones not together and band seems to be rushing. Tuning into Rallentando. Flugel Solo has nice shape with good band accompaniment. The odd split dosen't detract, but tuning in the lower ensembles does!
Nice flowing quavers from Euphs, and Sop takes over well. Nice build and good use of dynamics into Andante.
Flugel solo - refrain - is again very good, with the right amount of vibrato. Build up into ff is achieved well. Muted cornets and horns to close is good. Accellerando is scrappy - Band and MD are not together. Bass tuning again detracts, good rhythm from middle ensemble. Big trombone sound - well done. Good balanced to f, but again tuning and intonation detracts. nice full sound to close and well done sop.
Pity this band didn't have any percussion. But a good performance - why the alternate layout...?
