Not together at start, and there is a sense of rushing from the ensemble. Good bass lines into A. Cornets play with conviction and make the music exciting. Horns are strong and trombones assist well. Good sop (and in tune - well done) A few blips from Euphonium into slow movement. Troms not balanced but nice crescendo to Cornet Solo.
Cornet Soloist plays with warmth and but ensemble not together. Euph suffers intonation problems with his solo and muted cornets are not together. Good dynamic levels throughout with some sympathetic percussion playing. Euph is having a bad day at the office, but has recovered well.
Good 'bell effects' throughout with plenty of rhythm from the percussion section. Again muted cornets not in tune. Band seems to have settled now and are playing well, good timps and well controlled crescendo to end. Well done.

Generally a very good performance, but nerves and untidyness detracted.

We have offered our opinion of the bands performance based on the music, and on what we hear; and not on the technicalities of notes and other musical markings in the score etc.

Please don't be offended if you don't agree with what we write. This will simply be a combination of a report of our opinions on how we felt the performance went on the day, and of what's happening at the contest.

Please feel free to add your comments and your scores based on what you heard but please remember to keep these constructive and within the spirit of tMP and our guidelines. :)

Either that or Rhodri has put on a few pounds, grown some hair and sawn his legs off at the knee
