Good start, but a tadge too fast! Semiquavers not together at A. Cornets play well, but the odd split detracts. Tempo is not consistent through E (only the style changes). Phrase ending from middle ensembles could be improved. Again, tempo changes before I. Well played Euphonium in to J.

Largo: well played trombones. Cornet soloists plays with emotion and passion. Trombones not together bar before L. Cornet and Euph duet is very nice with good horn accompaniment. Muted cornets not together before N. Sop/Solo Cornets/Rep not in tune before O. Well done Flugel at O. Nice build up and use of dynamics before P. Well played Euph and Eb Bass.

Allegro: Ensemble not together to R. Good side drum at S. Sop tuning at V is suspect! Good quaver pattens (woodblock) at W. Build into Y is good with excellent use of dynamics. Grandioso is very well play and the band enjoy the Vivace to the end. Well done Timp and Sop in final bars.

A great little performance this, although I think the tempo and untidiness at the start might just cost them.

We have offered our opinion of the bands performance based on the music, and on what we hear; and not on the technicalities of notes and other musical markings in the score etc.

Please don't be offended if you don't agree with what we write. This will simply be a combination of a report of our opinions on how we felt the performance went on the day, and of what's happening at the contest.

Please feel free to add your comments and your scores based on what you heard but please remember to keep these constructive and within the spirit of tMP and our guidelines. :)
