Opening is well controlled with a sensible dynamic. Semis not clear before 10. Good Euph and Bass lines to 20. Excellent Xylophone and well balanced ensembles. More rhythm needed on semiquavers to ensure music flows. Slight blip in cornet at Affetuoso - Well done Sop. One or two blips in Bari and Euph but good control at 60. DC is again well controlled but more pulse is needed. A very good movement.

Good confident cornet soloist at opening with nice accompaniment. Ensemble plays with warmth and passion. Nice Bass sounds and not overblown at 4 before 10 (thank you).

Tranquillo. Nice horn sounds but more flow to quaver sections needed. Some wrong notes creeping in and intonation suffers. Again well done Sop. Timp not quite ensemble into 40. Nice close to movement.

Opening not clear in cornets. Good dynamic levels at 10 and the music is flowing. Good troms before 20 with good flugel. Again good flugel playing at 50. DS is a lot clearer second time around. The band have really captured the spirit here and although there are minor blips dotted about they play throughout and to a good solid conclusion.

A good performance that is going to set a high standard benchmark.

We have offered our opinion of the bands performance based on the music, and on what we hear; and not on the technicalities of notes and other musical markings in the score etc.

Please don't be offended if you don't agree with what we write. This will simply be a combination of a report of our opinions on how we felt the performance went on the day, and of what's happening at the contest.

Please feel free to add your comments and your scores based on what you heard but please remember to keep these constructive and within the spirit of tMP and our guidelines. :)
