Start: 1st impressions = good balance and nice sounds heard... esp on long notes, Good control into Theme though some tuning in lower cornets... very nice though.

Lower solo cornet out of tune at 72.

Allegro: 124 a little bit messy... and cannot hear cornets before Allegretto!!

Nice solo Horn at 158... and 1st horn supports well... a little nervous though?

Good sop at 170... shame about flug miss...?

Poco rubato not together... and lower solo cornet too loud. 2ns 3rd cts not together. 207: good Solo Horn again... nice duet too! Cymbal a little too loud, but lovely sonorous sounds into Allegro.

Allegro: Basses - excellent... but there could be more movement through this section perhaps? Good percussion.

Not quite together in end of that section... but good playing through band.

Andante: sweet cornet...Horn a tad sharp and at 338 not together. Nice balanced Basses at 348.

359 = pp....????? and again some tuning on lower cornets and solo cornet into pause.

Allegro: oooh... nice start - very moody! 410 = very good, together... Accell...??

Allargando: very VERY nice ending... and well balanced last chord.

All in all a very good performance - well done.

We have offered our opinion of the bands performance based on the music, and on what we hear; and not on the technicalities of notes and other musical markings in the score etc.

Please don't be offended if you don't agree with what we write. This will simply be a combination of a report of our opinions on how we felt the performance went on the day, and of what's happening at the contest.

Please feel free to add your comments and your scores based on what you heard but please remember to keep these constructive and within the spirit of tMP and our guidelines. :)
