Start: crisp and bright - sets a good standard for the rest of the piece. Steady tempo into first movement. Nice horns... and Basses are supporting well.
Slightly overblown in the Bass Trom section ;)
Solo Horn well played on solo part.
Nothing to refer to but semi section is well controlled in a steady manner, but could perhaps be brighter...? Cadenzas are neat and tidy...
Troms well balanced following this... but cornets a little scrappy in fanfare. Nice Euphonium into slow section... trom shot notes not together! Horn solo a little nervous but you play this very well and have a lovely sound. Euph unison excellent.
3/4 section (if it is 3/4 - I can't read the downbeats) is well controlled, and well balanced... into cornet solo... well played... but a few blips in there too. Well supported by Euphonium. Cornet - don't be nervous... it has caused a few blips... shame.
Flug/Horn duet nice..
Muted cts and trombones - poor tuning??
Next section a little scrappy on cornets... into faster section - tuning on upper cornets...
I don't hear enough dynamic contrast to make the 'Gregson effect' stand out...! Sorry, but it all sounds very 'level'...
Fast section towards end is cluttered, but balance is good esp tremolos on cts - well held by MD. I see his hand go up to thwart overblowing, and it works.
Generally I thought a well rounded performance, but sometimes cluttered and untidy.
