Movement 1: Slight hesitancy at start....

6 - tidy... 7 - getting better... exciting playing through this movement though lacking in dynamic contrast. Very technically demanding piece that is certainly stretching your band, you hold up well though, well done.

Movement 3: I hear intonation issues in cornets and flugel too... the music isn't flowing for me I'm afraid... seems rather jumpy. Lovely Euphonium before 36... Nice Niente...

Movement 4: Better.... music is now exciting and moving well... frantic pace set here - hard to read score and comment at same time. I long for more Bass... more Bass

Well... a very very demanding piece to master, and though you played it well, it wasn't quite there. Excellent attempt at a massively difficult piece.

We have offered our opinion of the bands performance based on the music, and on what we hear; and not on the technicalities of notes and other musical markings in the score etc.

Please don't be offended if you don't agree with what we write. This will simply be a combination of a report of our opinions on how we felt the performance went on the day, and of what's happening at the contest.

Please feel free to add your comments and your scores based on what you heard but please remember to keep these constructive and within the spirit of tMP and our guidelines. :)
