No score or music provided
Start: excellent opening, triplet semis well controlled.
Slightly down-tempo for next section... did you intend that? Moves nicely into Waltz. This section seems a tad 'harsh'... as though all the notes are attacked...!! Sorry, that's just what I hear.
Bass drum not in time...
Into slower movement.... and cadenzas:
Sop: nervous, slightly muddled
Horn: well played...
Baritone: nicely done...
Euphonium: a little tentative - but then again I couldn't do it, so who am I to comment!!!
Lovely solo cornet sound into next section, backed up by nice sop. Solo Ct cad a little blippy, but gorgeous sound. Troms a tad overblown...
Lovely Euphonium melody line.
Next Var: sounds a little slow to me and perhaps a little harsh in places - ie no roundness. Euph solo - well played. Ct solo that follows also well played... you have a cracking sound. It is very hard to comment accurately without a score to refer to, but this movement progresses very well, some nicer balanced sounds prevail.
Next Var: untidy on xyl and cts... it sounds messy and unclear...
Next Var: cornet solo, class playing sir... your sound is warm, musical and expressive. Unison cts good... Cymbal too loud on crash roll...
Next Var: very steady tempo, a little too steady for my personal liking.
Ending: very loud, but balanced.
In summary, too cluttered and untidy to find a podium placing I feel... sorry! Solo Ct might get the soloist award though!
