View Full Version : Alan Ball
Can't believe that Alan Ball has died.
What a player he was.
Thoughts are with his family.
I bet he's lining up next to Bobby Moore right now.
Alan Ball RIP.

I wasn't lucky enough to see this gem of a footballer wear our royal blue shirt live unfortunately.
But he will always be a firm favourite of the goodison faithfull.
Had to laugh while reading some of the coment on the blues sites.
How's about this one from shanks
Liverpool legend Shankly tracked Ball down to a restaurant on the day he left Everton.
When Ball was handed the phone by the head waiter, the Scot said: "You signed for Arsenal at 3.30 didn't you? How do I know? Because I felt like a big thorn had been pulled out of my side."
Rest in peace Ballie
Alan Ball was a niggly, moaning , ginger haired pain in the neck as a player - the guy should have been a Scotsman! Imagine a midfield 3 of Ball, Bremner and Baxter - all gone at ridiculously young ages. Mind you with some of the prima donna types around now, all three of the above would spend more time suspended than playing.
Say hi to Billy and Slim Jim, Bally - legends all, your kind just aren't made anymore.

My favourite was in Shoot!
I can't remember who said it,(might have been Bruce Rioch?) "I don't mind you kicking me, Ballie, but for god sake shut up! That voice drives me nuts!"
