News reached me today of the death, on the 28 December 2006, of Gracie Cole - the legendary leader of the Ivy Benson Band and wife of the (also) legendary Bill Geldard.
I was privileged to know both Gracie and Bill for many years when they entered the brass band scene. Two of the most genuinely lovely and modest people you would care to meet.
