How about this?.. Enter colloquial sayings, from your part of the world, with a short explanation of what you think the proper meaning is, so..it's sort of educational! Some of these may be more widespread than we think, but I'm hoping to unearth some little beauties!

"Bloznob"
..an affectionate term for someone close.... as in..
"..now then Bloznob?"
as fit as a fiddle! i can understand as fit as a butchers dog meaning that dogs are fit but why a fiddle!!!

"I'll do it Dreckly"
Cornish saying that basically means "I'll do it sometime soon in the near future" but in reality means "I'll probably get round to it sometime in very far future so don't hold your breath".
Usually heard when you speak to mechanics or other repairmen, or is the standard answer when your wife asks you when you are going to do any jobs around the house
