View Full Version : tMP Social- Manchester

Naomi McFadyen
10.09.2003, 21:42
Having spoken to several people already on MSN, a lot of people seem to be up for the idea of a tMP social in Manchester.
I thought I'd start the balls rolling on this and see how many people would definatly be up for it, and then sort out dates (which could be a challenge, but we'll get there!)

So, whos up for it?

IckleSop
10.09.2003, 21:49
I Reckon it could be a good laugh, although i already know you nai!! but it would be great to meet everyone else!

leisa
10.09.2003, 21:51

Naomi McFadyen
10.09.2003, 21:52
Yea it will be a great laugh!

Be great to meet loads of new people and catch up on the gossip with the (excuse this) old, heheeeeee...

Sellers_Bird
10.09.2003, 22:08
hows about some provisional dates then...jus as an idea, no point sayin we'll come if we're all on holidays?!

super_sop
10.09.2003, 22:10
What about December, after christmas perhaps. somewere near my birthday would be good

Naomi McFadyen
10.09.2003, 22:13
I was thinking of either in a few weeks, or the week after the Nationals in London... (provided that isn't half term week, so no1s away ;-P)
Then we need to find a night where there's not too many people having band rehearsals, or choose to have it on a saturday...

Having it in October will give people more time to free up dates in diaries... as I say, this is the challenge...

Any suggestions welcome!

Naomi McFadyen
10.09.2003, 22:15
well, yes after christmas is the other possibility... but a lot of people may be away... (?)

super_sop
10.09.2003, 22:20
I thought perhaps Christmas as those of us that work for a living mite find it a little easier to get there

Naomi McFadyen
10.09.2003, 22:21
I wont be in Manchester christmas week though... holidays for us students and visiting family down south...

super_sop
10.09.2003, 22:23
perhaps the midle of the country would be better then. somewere were every one can get to

Naomi McFadyen
10.09.2003, 22:25
well, lets stick with the idea of Manchester for now... see what others think and suggest before changing cities... I still reckon October... no snow then! ;-)

Sellers_Bird
10.09.2003, 22:38
october sounds good, no snow.... more choice of evening attire for us girlies instead of big winter woolie coats.. cant be end of coct as its pontins so that gives 3 other weekends... discuss!

Naomi McFadyen
10.09.2003, 22:45
October it is then!
Just need a selection of dates to work with now

Sellers_Bird
10.09.2003, 22:57
right well... Fri 3rd/Sat 4th (sellers have band job fri 3rd..so thats no for me) Fri 10/Sat 11th (sellers have band job on 11th so again, no for me) not lookin good.....the its the finals the weekend after..... HOWS ABOUT NOVEMEBER???

Big Fella
11.09.2003, 07:41
Sounds like it could be an interesting evening..
As long as beer is involved, I don't see any problems...

Not playing for anybody at the moment, so any weekend is a good weekend..
:D :D :D 8) 8)

Naomi McFadyen
11.09.2003, 08:32
I slept on this last night... November sounds the better option to me...

So- dates that people CAN do in November...
we'll get there oneday!

Sellers_Bird
11.09.2003, 09:39
this is a nightmare.... i think im well busy every weekend in nov... so u might have to count me out! :x :( got yorkshire festival of music and scottish open lol... i'll let you know! ps, Naruco, are u ever off here???

Naomi McFadyen
11.09.2003, 09:43
what about weekdays?

am I ever off here? lol!
Hardly... only when I need sleep or go out... Other than that, I'm constantly online ;o) (interent junky me!)

Naomi McFadyen
11.09.2003, 10:48
Suggested dates for November:
Weekends:
Sat 1st, Sun 2nd, Sun 9th, Sun 23rd, Sat 29th, Sun 30th - the other days I have gigs with Leyland...
Weekdays: Any Wednesday or Friday...

Over to you!

sparkling_quavers
11.09.2003, 16:45
well we could still have a manchester one (which would be pretty easy to organise) and then work on a big one for everyone for sometime in the new year (after the event). I reckon a pub crawl and then a curry! I would have thought half term week would be good for most as the students are still around anyway. It may be better to make it a sat though then people who wanted to travel up could do.

Naomi McFadyen
11.09.2003, 16:52

I think we'll go on all day looking for a time/place/pub to suit everyone...

Someone should take the plunge and say sat 21st november and see where that gets us.... There'll never be a perfect date!! but avoiding contests as best we can and Rembereance sunday with a hangover is a good idea!!

Somebody just take the initiative.....

I will be there tho!

There's just not enough weekend's in the year! :? I think anytime between now and Christmas is going to be very busy for a lot of people. Jan/Feb is usually quieter. Will have more weekends to work with then I'm sure.

Hehe. We have a tradition of the U6th Lads doing that on the last friday of the christmas term every year. Its a very rugby orientated school so you can imagine the result! They spend as little time in each pub as possible, going to as many places as possible (and we have a fair number; record for most licenced (sp?) premises per head of the population :)) and down a pint in each. Winner is the last one standing.
Its a lads only affair, but we were also out and bumped into them on occasion as they went around, and it was pretty funny to watch how rapid the deterioration was!

As for the meet, I may wonder along depending how student life it treating me. Good excuse to meet up with a couple of people i wont have seen for a while!

I quite like this idea of a social... Manchester's surely the only place to have it too. One problem, won't wetherspoons totally heaving by then?
