Hi folks - you are all aware by now that tMP has been one of the many organisations within the world of banding to put its support behind the excellent Brass Band Aid venture. The time has now come to use the unique interactive element of tMP to help take this project forward.
The Brass Band Aid concept is on its way to being much more than the excellent CD recording you've all read about so far . . . to put it simply, Brass Band Aid is a unique venture to raise as much cash and awareness for the problem of World Poverty through the medium we all love so much - Brass Banding.
There are many exciting developments on the way, but for now, we have been asked by Bob Thompson to put forward the following request:
~~~~~~~~~~O~~~~~~~~~~
Brass Band Aid have been approached by one of Oxfam's regional co-ordinators with the
view to having a Brass Band play at Leeds railway station as a train containing two coaches full
of Oxfam staff and supporters depart for the Make Poverty History event in Scotland
on Saturday, July 2nd.
This performance has been promised quite a bit of media coverage,
and there may be travel expenses available.
There is one catch however, the band is required to play at 6.30am because the train departs
for Scotland at 7.00am!
~~~~~~~~~~O~~~~~~~~~~
We appreciate that this is short notice, but would encourage you all to ask your Band Secretaries if your band is available to undertake this engagement.
If you can help please contact Bob Thompson (http://www.themouthpiece.com/vb/member.php?userid=1238)
Many Thanks,
Roger
