THE BRITISH FEDERATION OF BRASS BANDS
National Brass Band Week & Brass Alive 2005 Campaign
The British Federation of Brass Bands wishes to re-affirm it wholehearted support of the Scottish Brass Band Association’s initiative for a National Brass Band Week during the period 20th to 29th May 2005. The British Federation of Brass Bands will shortly contact all of is members and all contesting Bands in England by means of flyers to encourage their participation.
The Federation shares The Scottish Brass Band Association’s President Alan McLarens concerns regarding the dwindling numbers of participants within the world of brass bands and the need to preserve our cultural and musical relevance.
The Federation also understands the vital importance of making the world outside of the Brass Band Movement aware of its important position in the cultural and musical heritage of the United Kingdom and its influence on Brass Bands throughout the world.
Finally the British Federation of Brass Bands wishes to encourage any interested parties to contact them to join them in a spirit of partnership and co-operation in what it feels is a very vital initiative for the future survival of Brass Bands.
