After having been controversially accused of starting a pointless thread, (Who, moi??) I thought I'd do the decent thing and rectify the situation. So.....

North East

sorry... john's bandwidth is being wasted in a southerly direction... with possibly cold breezes to the east when a welshman opens his wallet and all those moths fly out at once... ;)

Isn't "pointing" this out the whole "point" of this thread? ;)

I'm at work where the internet is extremely slow, so to reply to a thread I have to use the "quick reply" and therefore can't quote.

If you quick reply on the post you want to quote and tick the "Quote message in reply" box you can...

Folks (particularly Geordie and BMB).

I too (despite the fact I've contributed to the others) was getting puzzled by the number of posts the other association threads were attracting! I was simply, (gently, of course) taking the mickey out of them with this, the 'Association association association association' and the 'Da Capo without repeats' association threads! :) I wasn't quite as nuke as drunk thought I was! (hic!) :-)

North west.

Well I got the "point" totally ;) Perhaps you were too subtle for most banders, Dave ;).

ps, as I write, the Movie, Tune 3 and Word association threads combined have resulted in a whopping 12,449 posts between them alone! Now then, lynchie. Which threads are REALLY causing John's bandwidth to be flushed down the toilet? :-) (and as for 'The Person Before'... we won't even go there! :-))

Just to clarify in case of doubt, I'm not criticising any of them. I was just taking the mick. ;-) Laugh and the world....... wonders what the **** you're laughing at! :-)

must admit your right has got a bit repetative but making another one to take the mic maybe misses the point a bit. If your gonna take the mick do what flugelgal said and dont be subtle just be blatently honest

Hmmmmm, I dunno, after trawling thru the "new posts" bit and seeing several new "association threads" I suddenly had a bizarre fit of grrrrness and just picked a random one to post a rant in. Unfortunately, I picked the ironic one and alas i did actually fail to read any of the posts already made

Oh well, thanks for pointing out the irony dave!!

Could we turn this into a even more 'ennui' inducing 'compass point related Mornington Crescent' thread?

I believe I'm right in saying that in 'compass Mornington Crescent', such moves are illegal when in scrit and can only be played when the Spam and pinstripe diagonal is in operation.

Therefore:

South

If this is the case - I assume we are playing
north circular open & general rules
All avenues are straight functioning, and as Mortimerís Bakerloo Gambit is allowed Elephant & Castle counts treble.

If so, I believe you now find yourself blocked on your laterals, leaving only one course of action.
