Thrilled with its recent second place at the Yeovil Entertainments Contest when it performed a short themed programme entitled Super Heroes, the PolySteel Band and Musical Director Philip Harper is now in training for its next West End Style show entitled Heroes and Villains which takes place in Cheltenham’s Bacon Theatre on Saturday 18 February at 7.30pm. Having received mixed reviews of its themed programmes on the contest platform, the band was pleased to once again capture the hearts of the audience and adjudicator with the Super Heroes performance and be awarded second place. “On reflection the band is pleased with the result, especially as it played at 9.30am at the start of such a long competition which went on for 10 hours, so I can’t help than be satisfied with the result,” said Philip Harper. The band’s performance at Yeovil included music such as Superman and Wonder Woman and the band featured its own Super Hero Stuart Baglin who was awarded the Best Soloist Prize for his performance of Basso Continuo. The Heroes are now being introduced to the Villains who will battle it out in what promises to be an excellent concert and another groundbreaking and artistically crafted performance from the PolySteel Band.
