The band extends a warm welcome to David Lancaster, the band's newly appointed resident conductor. David beat off stiff competition as conductors from all across the British Isles were auditioned over many weeks.
His appointment comes after an overwhelming vote from the band members and he brings to the band a great musical knowledge and experience and a drive to succeed at the highest level.
David has been Musical Director of Harrogate Band for many years and has not only steered them to a great many contest successes, he has gained a reputation for musical excellence and innovation along the way. David will conduct Harrogate Band in his final engagement at the Kippax Entertainment Final in early November.
The Imps wish Harrogate Band continued success in the future.
David's first task is preparing the Imps for the forthcoming Scottish Open Contest at the end of November.
