Edit: Current vacancies towards the end of the thread

Yorkshire Co-op Band, based in Brighouse, is looking for a solo trombone player. We are competing in the First Section this year at the areas and are looking forward to the Grand Shield in May. The band is very sociable, with a reasonable programme of concerts/contests throughout the year.

Anyone interested in the post, please drop me a line.

    All the best!

    Hello there Owen,

Shocked and appauled! Obviously poor old 2nd Euphonium Craig isn't good enough for this vacancy! Oh well, will have to keep blowing in your ear instead!

    First-class solo euphonium player required

The United Co-op Yorkshire Brass Band requires a first-class solo euphonium player to complete its current line-up.

The band returns to the Championship Section form January 2005 and in March will be undertaking a two-and-a-half week tour of Singapore and New Zealand, when it will be competing in the New Zealand Brass Band Championships.

Any interested players can contact Tabby Clegg at:

    Let's cut to the chase!

OK - so let's cut to the chase!

surely there must be a first class euphonium player out there wanting a solo euphonium seat with a band - especially for a trip to Singapore and New Zealand in March 2005.

Anyone interested in joining the ranks at the United Co-op Yorkshire Brass Band for this great 'once-in-a-lifetime' trip and other exciting ventures should urgently contact Tabby Clegg on tabby.clegg@btopenworld.com.

For more details on the band log onto its website at: www.unitedcoopyorkshirebrassband.com

The band currently only requires one player to make a full-team and this is the last seat available on the flight to the other side of the world, so if you would like to come down for a blow and meet the team, get in touch asap.

Calling classy cornet players - or keen ones at least!!

I am very pleased to say that the United Co-op Yorkshire Brass Band has just completed its line-up of players :D but is looking for a permanent first class cornet player due to maternity leave and work commitments of one of our players.

The band is based in Brighouse, less than 5 mins off the M62 junction 25 and the band is fairly young and very keen with plenty of playing and socialising being done!

Future events in the band's diary include a return to the top section in January 2005 and a tour of Singapore and New Zealand in March 2005 to compete in the New Zealand Brass Band Championships.

You can find out more about the band at: www.unitedcoopyorkshirebrassband.com
and anyone interested can e-mail me at: tabby.clegg@btopenworld.com

All enquiries will, of course, be treated in the strictest confidence. ;)

    urgently needed for next weekend!

    Hi

the United Co-op Yorkshire Brass Band has been asked at last minute to undertake a gig playing three sets in the main arena at the Hickstead Show Jumping Derby at the All England Show Jumping Course near Brighton and Gatwick, on Sunday 21 August 2005.

So, with it being last minute and in the middle of our band break we need a feww helpers and as the gig is down south any tmpers anywhere are welcome to join us.

I need a couple of cornets and a bass trom, though if anyone else fancies it feel free!

As it is so far away for us and with the gig starting early on Sunday 21 August, we are travelling down on Saturday 20th and camping over next to the bar in the riders and stable area! It promises to be a good laugh and lots of fun.

Music is light concert but with a choreographical twist! well...allegedly!

    so, can anyone help!

a conductor would be good too if anyone is up for it!!

    cheers

If all else fails try the military!

Certainly the RAF Central Band and the LifeGuards/Blues & Royals have "most" in a book. We needed Ghana last year, and a friend of mine at the Life Guards came up with a piano version that was hastily arranged.... PM if you need a contact...

    Neil.
(Sorry can't join you - we're playing in Warwick on Sunday - never managed to make Hicksted even when my dad was a showjumping judge!)

    thanks Neil for the info

I think I have the national anthems covered - it's a march called the Garb of Auld Gaul that's proving an issue!

"The Garb of Old Gaul" is the regimental slow march of the Scots Guards - I'm sure one of the guards regiments would soon sort out a set for you if you got in touch.
