I've seen the pictures on the yamaha website, has anyone had a blow on it yet?
Hi, yep we have one, played by our Principal Bb.
He absolutely loves it. Tried it out against some others and thought it won hands down.
Can put you in touch if it would be helpful
Alternatively, if you contact Yamaha direct they will loan you one for a few weeks to try out.
The new Yamaha Neo Eb Bass just had it's official European launch a couple of weeks ago. Stock is due to arrive in the UK in August. A couple of prototypes are currently being played in B&R, who now have a complete section of Neo basees. They have also been tested with Leyland along with some individual players. There is now a pre-production model that is being taken around to some shows and events. The first chance to see it will be at the All England Masters in Kettering at the end of May. Some info is now also up on the Yamaha website:
Anybody know the expected RRP?
The current expected RRP is £7896 for lacquer and £8189 for silver plated (prices include VAT). These are exactly the same recommended retails prices as for the current Maestro model, so therefore there is no increase in price.
so, that is going to be more expensive than the Neo BBb?
No, the RRP for the BBb Neo is £8457 for lacquer and £8750 for silver. Please bear in mind that these are recommended retail prices and not necessarily the prices that shops will sell them for.
