Does anyone know who is adjudicating this year?
I have heard that Kenneth Dennison is doing Championship Section.
Just had an email saying it wont be announced till a month before.
More info on Wychavon here
Apparently the adjudicators will be announced at the same time as the pre-draw in mid August.
Championship & Second Sections: Kenneth Dennison
First & Third Sections: Roy Sparkes
Fourth Section: Brian Buckley
Has anyone withdrawn?
I was looking at some of the bands' websites (checking out the competition, lol!) and some of them haven't got the date listed
We're definitely going.
And us Dave! We'll have to try and meet up for a drink if poss
Definitely. I'm afraid I won't be playing the G this time, though. Is "us" Strata Brass, on at 1.30 in the Arts Centre? We're on in the same venue at 7 p.m. Not sure what time we'll be arriving; we've got a TBA rehearsal in Kidlington before we leave.
I guess we'll be leaving after results Dave. We are going down on the Saturday.
PS yes us is Strata
Ah, well, if we're down there early, I'll give you a bell. I've still got your mobile number in my little black book.
Ah yes, I remember that Saturday night at Fifi's
err should be a good contest...
I'll be there!
Ah, you're on after us. May catch up with you backstage.
Tredegar are going
Cubbington are going.
Emley are going for the first time, bit of a day out for us Yorkshrie folk - not looking forward to the 6.30 start, but should be a good day, come say hello if you see us!
p.s. Has anyone played in the Pershore High School Hall before - any info on how you enter the stage, size etc. . .
Sounds good to me. It's going to be a late Sunday night for you if you wait for the results!
Dear all, HELP!!!!
Foresters will be on stage about 16:30 til 17:00... Our solo horn player has officially left to take up a place at Aberystwyth University but is coming back to play the contest. HOWEVER - I can't work out how to get him back across to the depths of west Wales on the sunday evening. Trains and buses seem to all stop at about lunchtime!
Is Anyone going that way, either a band bus or a car with a space in it?????? We'd be enormously grateful if anyone can offer him a lift any time in the evening (obviously after we've played!!!)... Please message back or PM me if you can help.... As it stands, I will have rather a long round trip when we come off stage!
Really hope to hear from someone.................
After not attending this contest for a few years we note that bands are requested to play the Drum kit provided. I realise in it is normal to borrow Timps, Tuned etc. Do all bands use the kit provided? What standard is it?
Don,t want to upset anyone on Sunday by bringing our own kit, but at the same time don,t want our performance affected by lack of percussion equipment. Your views please.
