I have a beautiful sounding Boosey and Hawkes Sovereign Roundstamp 923 Cornet which I played for 30 years. 1 1/2 years ago I've a bought a 928 from Trent Austin which I play now for most of the time.

Comparing the two they sound almost identical. For the British Brass Band playing I do I prefer the 928, since it just sound a little rounder and fuller then the 923. However, the difference is not night and day. A friend off mine in the British Brass Band prefers my 923, so it's more about preference the difference in quality.

The 923 British build is better and stronger build then my French build 928.

I hate to see this instrument go, but then I would like to have an ORCHESTRAL sounding C trumpet. I am thinking of an older Bach C or Yamaha 6445.
