As a principal partner of the European Brass Band Association, the World of Brass trade stand has a prominent position in the Brucknerhaus so, if you’re attending the European Brass Band Championships, be sure to pay us a visit. This weekend also sees the official launch of four new recordings. Triumphant Brass, as the title suggests, is all about Cory Band’s contest triumphs during its 125th anniversary year of 2009 and includes studio recordings of the two test-pieces played in victory at the European Brass Band Championships. Another very successful group is Fountain City Brass Band which recently became North American Brass Band champions for the fourth consecutive year. The band recorded Over The Rainbow while on their 2009 tour of the UK during which they also became Scottish Open champions. Over in Norway, Manger Musikklag managed to break the Stavanger and Eikanger-Bjorsvik stranglehold on the Championship Section by winning the 2010 event by the narrowest of margins. Our Double CD of Highlights from the Norwegian Brass Band Championships 2010 includes the winning performances from all sections, including the new Open Section. World Class Marches of The Salvation Army Volume I was our top selling recording of 2009 (both as a CD and as a download from World of Brass Tunes) and Volume II is now available. Incidentally, all the marches on Volume I are now published in the easy-to-read Judd Street Collection format, perfect for concert use. All of these recordings are also available from our music download store World of Brass Tunes. Have a great weekend whether you're in Austria or not.
