Results are up on the association website, though it would be nice to see draw number and who played what there too.

    Yay!! :D

Not wanting to cast aspersions toward our North West Leicestershire counterparts - its actually Oddfellows Brass, not Odd Fellows (as in a bunch of...;))

    The full results are here:

Great day's contesting yesterday (but then I would say that!). Although I was pretty skeptical about the new venue beforehand and I'd heard a few negative comments about the acoustic in the hall, I thought it was actually a pretty good venue for a contest of this size, and the hall itself was fine to play in. not sure how it was for listening as I didn't have time to catch any bands yesterday.

And well done to Oddfellows and my old mates at Wigston - a Leicestershire white-wash no less.

I hope the contest continues and grows next year. It would be nice to be competing against a few more West Midlands member bands next time around, to make it a bit harder for us to steal the trophy away back up the M6.

Sorry, cross posted. A list of those that I know:

Other pieces played - but I can't remember by who:

    Symphony of Marches

I can help with some of that (partly by removing the non-working table code):

    Enderby - A London Overture
    Oddfellows - Journey Into Freedom
    Wigston - Intrada

Other pieces (sorry can't remember which bands played them):
    Trumphant Rhapsody
    Symphony of Marches - Egham
    High Peak (x2) - Shirland and ?
    The Plantagenets - Yiewsley

We, Carlton Brass, also played High Peak and came 4th.

I thought the contest was really well run and the venue was pretty good too. The temporary bar was certainly very welcome :)

It's not as pretty as Leamington but far more space for the bands to spread out. I do think a rehearsal room would have been nice though.

    Well done WMBBA

Who is the Intrada that Wigston played by? And is that the full title?

Dave, although (sadly) I didn't get to hear it myself, I think its this piece:

    http://www.beriato.com/music/en/shop-detail.asp?ProdID=2766

by a guy called Oliver Waespi.

It seemed to be pretty well liked by the Wigston bods I spoke to, and from a couple of people who heard the performance.

Well Done Enderby and Wigston!!! What a great day! for Leicestershire bands. A really big well done to our Eb Bass player Luke Attkinson, who won the best soloist prize. Luke was 16 last week and it was the very first solo he's ever played. He did fantastic and were all really proud of him. xx
