The Wigston Band will be performing a charity concert in aid of Children's Brain Tumour Research at Wreake Valley College Theatre, Syston, Leicestershire at 7:30pm on Saturday 7th May.

This particular charity is very close to the band's heart, after first horn player, Rachel Cherry’s son Samuel’s diagnosis of a brain tumour in early 2004. Since then, Rachel and her family have been busily fundraising for the CBTR charity which helps pay for the pioneering research into Childhood Brain Tumours, being undertaken by the CBTR centre at Nottingham University. This research receives no national funding and relies solely on donations and goodwill of organisations and the public.

The charity concert, promises to be an evening packed with musical entertainment, from Traditional and Classics to Shows and Swing. All proceeds from the evening will be going directly to the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre. There will also be a prize raffle on the evening.

If you are interested in coming along to support this very worthy cause, tickets are available at £5.00 or £3.50 for concessions. For more details contact myself via PM or Email (ianh@themouthpiece.com) or by calling 0116 2104476. We hope to see you there!!
