Who's up for helping MM keep this site alive?

Would you support / join in with this kind of event?

  1. Of course, I'm a loyal tMP supporter

  2. No, I'm far too busy for that kind of thing

When I played with Shropshire Youth BB all those years ago, we staged a sponsored 24 hour "concert" with some of the orchestras. Each ensemble played in shifts throught the day finishing with a combined band / orchestra finale with something like 8 conductors. I'm sure that with nearly 700 tMP ers we could match if not beat that and have a cracking social event at the same time.

Who's up for having a go at something like this or got any other ideas?

Possibly go for getting the worlds F'ugest Brass Band together?
Even get some us Whinging-Old-Gits out of retirement for that (that'll please Eric the Troll!!)?

  3. This is an excellent idea, but not only are we from all areas of the UK, some of us from all four corners of the earth would have a lot of travelling to join in!!! :dunno

Is there a record for the Largest Brass band / Longest running concert?

Perhaps we can get the Guinness guys (Record not beer.. or both!) to come along!

Hmm no bands on the Guinness site.. did find this though :

    Oldest Tuba Player
Jack Samuel Hogg of Heswall, Wirral, UK, is the oldest tuba player, regularly playing in concerts with the Heswall Concert Band since joining them in 1998 at the age of 94. Jack has been playing a musical instrument since 1919 when as a soprano coronet player he joined the Cammell Laird Sea Scout Band.

Theres a record I can go for! (anther Sop Player too!).

Always up for a good idea. As long as I'm available I'm up for 'owt...........well, within reason and as long as it doesn't hurt or break the skin, or leave me with annoying chafed areas.
