Besson sovereign or international which one, any preferences anyone
The one you feel most comfortable with.
provided it can be made to blend well with your section.
A sop can blend with the rest of the cornets?
Round badge sovereign..... pre lottery grant mass production! Just look on here for threads of people seeking them out to refurb as a preference to new instruments.
Yeah, like a bass trombone in a trombone section... No, hang on...
Doh! Was talking generally, not re sops....... Schilke? Besson/boosey and hawkes sops seemed to be a bit hit or miss. As is often the case......
Schilke sops are the best, but you pay for it... the Xeno is a good sop also from what I hear and if you get a GOOD Sterling they're alright as well.
Considering that the International range is labelled intermediate and the Sovereign is professional, there should be no comparision needed. However, go back a few years for the Besson International Cornet, then it does become a matter of choice. I can't remember if the International was ever manufactured with larger than medium bore.
