In my instrument case is a fabric pencil-case filled with dusters, silver cloth, valve oil, cork grease, a mouthpiece brush, a long bendy brush, some spare valve felts, a pencil and some clothes pegs. All unremarkable stuff. Does anyone routinely carry around anything more exotic than this, like a mouthpiece puller, pliers or spanners?

Right now my rather large cornet case has some clown items inside.....hat, bowtie, a few balloons and so on. Left over from our 'clowning' entertainments programme at the Exmouth Entertainments Contest. We are doing it all over again at Exmouth Pavilion on Thursday night (Last Night of Proms concert for Rotary Club) so most players in our band probably have some clown articles inside their case.
