There have been a lot of threads regarding working and jobs etc etc etc and thinking back to the bands I have been involved in the diversity of occupations has been immense (teachers, pharmacists, accountants, insurance underwriters, builders, carpenters, actors, gardeners, financial advisors etc) and I just thought it would be interesting to know what you tMP guys and gals did for a living.

I know there are going to be quite a few 'students' but it would be good to know what you're studying!

So come on guys and girls - what do YOU do for a living?

I'll start by saying that I am a Business Development Manager for an Insurance Broker specialising in the Leased Car business.

    What do you do?

I can't answer things straightforwardly, so I'll just sum up my life.....
Currently I do nothing at all (if anyone wishes to employ me I'm very nice and work very hard :) )
I spent two years doing pharmacology at Leeds-I then realised I hated it and so I am going to Oxford Brookes(I think I've decided :? )in september to do primary school teaching and I can't wait :D phew!

HBB - you're right but as I remember, the other thread was more to do with "does your job affect your banding".

I'm a photographer, mainly weddings and portraits. Over the past few years paid more attention to event and brass band photography.

There will soon be a link on www.4barsrest.com with regards to brass band events such as whit friday and easingwold so keep a look out.

If any one is interested i am in search for an assistant! nothing glamarous but nothing too hard.

I'm a university student at Portsmouth studying Business Information Technology Degree. Very, Very boring. I work at One Stop newsagents part time and I hate that too! I can't stand being polite to customers that just wind me up. So it's seems that the only thing I actually like about my life is band :!: :?:  :?

I'm currently on a work placement training to become an engineer, with a company that designs and makes gas meters for domestic and industrial use... next year I'm going to Warwick University to study Mechanical Engineering, and to drink myself into an early grave...

I suspect my line of work is already fairly well known here.....

But specifically, what it involves, is checking and allocating where possible, copyright ownership on information received from record companies before licences are issued for recordings, or checking the Music Week charts to see if any of the chart stuff has any unclaimed copyright ownership pending.

However, I have an interview here on Wednesday in which I hope, for my last few months in London, to work for a department which researches and matches copyright works performed, on our database, Classic FM and Radio 3 broadcasts, as well as assisting other departments' queries on 'serious' music.

I'm a "card carrying" scientist by training. Molecular Biologist basically. However, saw the error of my ways, science interesting doing lab work boring.

Through a variety of other positions I am now a licensing executive which means I chase people who infringe the patents of the company I work for. Also, I out licence other intellectual property developed by the company
