Sorry Huw but Totnes were.....THE WINNERS of the 4th section. Unfortunately I don't know what the other placings were so how this affects your listings.

Not really, no, but just because Cinderford was the last band I played with and they beat us AGAIN at Weston, doesn't mean I am bitter, really!! lol

Bit of a WTF result from our perspective... Didn't think we were really that much below the standard we usually present at WSM, if at all? We must have done something to really upset Mr Bassano!

    That's contesting...

    I'll second this!

Was my first time to Weston and first time at this contest and had a great time both at the contest and in Weston afterwards.

The win made it all the better, of course!

    Thank you! :D

    Dave,
One of his pet problems is bass trombone being too loud(not balancing with tenors), lol. Hope you weren't too loud Dave. I had the pleasure of going to a workshop relating to this years area testpieces delivered by the said gentleman. I was not impressed by his knowledge of the music or his techniques in approaching problems. His tempo's were all on the fast side to those indicated. I mentioned my thoughts to my band during rehearsals and unfortunately on reflection the results were in my humble opinion doubtful. Hey! thats contesting though.

Well done to all the placed bands. I was impressed with all. We (Newport) were disappointed with the result in 4th section, after thinking we had performed reasonobly well. However, Mr Buckley thought otherwise. Did anybody hear our performance? Was it really that bad?
