After the huge success of the 2005 contest with record breaking entries, the music selectors of the West of England Bandsmen’s Festival have announced the test pieces for the 2006 Contest. Next year’s contest preparations are well under way, and with the launch of the new website earlier this year, the organisers are certainly bringing one of the country’s only remaining outdoor brass band competitions into the 21st Century.

The adjudicator for the 2006 event, due to be held on Saturday 17th June, is Mr David Horsfield with the Deportment Section being judged by Gareth Roberts MBE.

Full details on how to enter this unique contest can be found at www.buglebandcontest.co.uk or by writing to Mr A Teague, 35 Gloucester Ave, Carlyon Bay, St Austell Cornwall, PL25 3PT.
