West Lothian to celebrate 30 years West Lothian Schools Brass Band is trying to trace former members to perform at the leading youth band?s 30th anniversary concert in Livingston?s St. Margaret?s Academy on Saturday 22 October. The ten times National Youth Champion band has played a part in producing a significant number of leading figures in the brass band movement and the band?s conductor, Nigel Boddice MBE, hopes that as many of them as possible will be able to return for the celebration. The interesting programme of music will include Barbarian Horde from Gladiator, selections from West Side Story, the theme from Friends, 1812 Overture and Philip Sparke?s Music For A Festival, with which the band won their first National Youth Championship in October 1985. Any former members not currently playing are also welcome to come along and catch up with old friends at the concert and afterwards at the party in Howden Park Centre, Livingston. Anyone wishing to take part should contact Alan Edmond at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07834 128626, Katrina Marzella on 07736 304154 or Kenny Crookston on 07967 805444. An exhibition of historical pictures is planned and anyone able to assist with that should contact one of the above.
